Yet another statistic from Gogo, an in-flight data service provider. Gogo recently published on their blog that Apple devices account for major data usage with a staggering 86% of usage coming from Apple devices along. Android might be leading the smartphone race with a dominant presence by capturing almost 70% of the smartphone market by Android users are still lagging behind in usage of features on their devices. Apple seems to be leading in various departments of usage statistics.
Gogo says that out of the web traffic coming from smartphones Apple iPhones account for 73% where as Android accounts for a mere 26%. Out of all the Apple devices, users seem to love using their iPad in-flight as iPads account to 59% of the usage coming from Apple devices and iPhones account to only 36%.
There are some other interesting statistics as well published on Gogo’s blog. As expected, the leading web browser in-flight seems to be safari which is the default browser on all Apple mobile devices, the second position is grabbed by Internet Explorer which is surprising. Android’s default browser seems to be out of the list of top three browsers with third and fourth spots grabbed by Chrome and Firefox respectively.
The most performed activities are reported to be web surfing, emails and social network access. Check out more details here.
